Abby is an Emmy Award-winning filmmaker celebrated for her visually striking and emotionally resonant storytelling.

She directed and executive produced the Emmy-nominated three-part series Mastermind: To Think Like a Killer (Hulu, 2024), produced by Campfire Studios and Dakota and Elle Fanning’s Lewellen Pictures.

Abby is one of the directors behind the acclaimed series Chef’s Table, the longest-running original series on Netflix. The show has earned multiple Emmy nominations, an IDA Award, and a James Beard Award. Her episodes have featured celebrated chefs including Cristina Martinez, Mashama Bailey, Ana Roš, Yoshihiro Imai, and Tim Raue.

Her additional directing credits include Dear Oprah for Apple TV+; the award-winning feature documentary Do You Dream in Color?; Shepherd’s Song for The North Face; and John Leguizamo: Live at Rikers, which premiered at the 2022 Tribeca Film Festival. She was recently nominated for a James Beard Media Award (2025) for her direction of the three-part series GOAT for MasterClass.

Her debut scripted feature, HOPE/ESPERANZA was selected for development by both the Stowe Story Labs and the HerArts Lab in Paestum, Italy.

Abby was named the 2025 U.S. Filmmaker Envoy to Mexico by the American Film Showcase, through which she taught filmmaking across four states in Mexico. She is a graduate of the USC School of Cinematic Arts and also studied at FAMU in Prague, Czech Republic.

When not filming around the world, Abby lives on a regenerative cattle ranch in southern Oregon with her husband and their dog, Charlotte.
